reset day

today i took a break. cancelled all my plans, time to rest

of course this is my kind of "rest", here's what that looks like

woke up around 7, made food, stayed in bed until noon. chores time. just little ones, laundry, washing the sheets since i was sick, dishes, garbage, sweep and vacuum (i dont have many square feet to worry about). took a little walk for my little mental health and bought some food at the convenience store. a little treat. ate the treat. also caffeine. i still plan to finish one medium chore, adding ribbons to the inside of our duvet cover so it actually stays in place. i have been putting this off. watch a show with friends (Rag Dolly. again) while i do the sewing.

I have heard from my friends with ADHD and depression that they affect you brain's ability to give yourself a reward for completing something. my autism OCD soup is like the opposite of this. the best thing i can do for my brain to give it a "good day" is home alone with bunch of minor and easy tasks which make me feel productive and cross things off my list, while interspersing a little treat and some down-time. as long as i have a bit of energy, getting little things done feels a million times better than sitting around, and resets my brain properly.

i have been trying to listen to the new lost boys album since semiroboticperson has been obsessed with it, but i dont fully follow whats going on. its not bad.
