anyways my friend stored his bike at my apartment and lost the key, so after like six months of it sitting there he went out and bought an angle grinder. yeah it was one of those kryptonite locks.
i did at least tell my apartment manager it was happening just in case.
so today we got the last of our tools at the hardware store, made sure we had good gloves, and just went at it hoping no one would call the cops. no one even complained! no one gave a shit! wonderful!
they successfully freed their bike. in a shower of sparks i was sure would melt through the battery casing and explode (oh yeah, its an e-bike). nothing happened. the day is saved. we watched bootlegs while they charged it back up to ride home. thriving in mild chaos. its good for me.
therapy sucked but cutting through a bike lock with an angle grinder saved me.
