art and joy in the wild today

the universe has decided to give me a good day to make up for the two weeks of being sick. a good and slightly surreal day.

had a theater meeting today, always so nice to see my troupe they are so good and fill me with queer art joy. they also fill me with pastries. we talked projects and even though i was mostly quiet its great to feel included and know whats coming up. and hear the way the team functions and manages problems that come up. they're also really funny.

after that, decided to walk the 30 minutes to my relative's place to do some work for her. on my way i found an art installation called a wishing tree, the branches covered in tiny tags with people's wishes written on them. it's a fairly well traveled part of town so there must have been thousands of them. i read a few and cried. wishes for peace, prosperity, small joys and world changing good.

i used to live with her but i dont anymore, so it was nice to do some chores that require young able-bodied energy. and i got paid enough to buy myself lunch yay.

back on the road after that. i poked in a couple stores. saw a brass marching band. checked in a few vinyl stores to see if they had a copy of Beach Boys Love You for SemiRoboticPerson, but no luck. i DID find a vintage vendor who loves Raggedy Ann, and we talked a bit!! they let me take pictures of their wares too which was very nice. they didn't know much about the books or records or other media, i warned them most of them weren't good but fun to experience anyway.

now i sit in a coffe shop with my lunch. dinner at this point i guess, its almost 5. this sandwich is pretty small for 10 dollars but at least i have granola bars in my backpack. im taking a social break, in a couple hours im going to a puppet show nearby and i need to rest first.

so much art and friendship in the world. i am sad that my partner is sick and wasnt able to come. im afraid they might have caught what i had. not much to do about that. though i find i often have more surreal experiences alone. im looking for them more.
